Hello, I'm Amy.
I'm the photographer behind Grace & Light — a portrait and storytelling photographer based in Johannesburg, working across Sandton, Bryanston and wherever the light is good.
I started photographing the people I love because I was afraid of forgetting them as they were right then: the way my grandmother laughed with her whole body, the light in my sister's kitchen on a Sunday afternoon. Those are still the photographs I care about most.
Today I photograph people, couples, families and the milestones in between. My job is simple: to help you feel comfortable enough to be yourself, and then to notice everything.
Why Grace & Light
Two words for what I look for in every photograph.

- The quiet ease people have when they stop performing and simply are. The kindness of taking our time, so that nobody feels rushed or looked at.

- What every photograph is made of. The low, golden sun of a Highveld evening. And the feeling of being seen clearly — and kindly.
